About AITP

Mission Statement:
It is the mission of AITP to provide superior leadership and education in Information Technology. AITP is dedicated to using the synergy of Information Technology partnerships to provide education and benefits to our members and to working with the industry to assist in the overall promotion and direction of Information Technology.

History:
Formerly known as DPMA, AITP is the oldest and most successful IT professional association. AITP is comprised of over 200 local chapters in the United States and Canada with over 13,000 professional and student members.

JMU / AITP:
Began in 1980, JMU/AITP helps students to develop a better understanding of information processing. The organization provides a valuable link to the business world, giving students exposure to the computer information system field and the career opportunities it can provide.

JMU/AITP is open to all majors. The officers organize events in which representatives from companies speak about their company and their utilization of IT. The representatives also speak about current topics in IT and the business world, giving AITP members valuable insight.
